  • How do I start?

    You can sign up and start any of our courses whenever you would like. You would just click the, “Enroll Now!” on the course page you are interested in and checkout through Shopify. 

  • How much does it cost?

    The price of our courses varies. We are competitive on our prices and offer industry leading pass rates and support for all of our students – No extra fee!  Here are the prices for our courses to become a real estate agent in Kentucky. You can also find our pricing for Post-License  and our CE Courses. To become a broker, you can find our prices here: Kentucky Broker Course,  Last, we offer a Reciprocity Course for Tennessee, Ohio, Florida, and West Virginia. 

  • Do you have payment plan options?

    Yes, we do. We offer affordable payment plans for a majority of our courses. You can either choose the option for our payment plan on the product page during the checkout process.  However, by using payment plans you cannot use an existing discount.  There is also the option to use  Affirm at checkout, which requires a certian credit score but does allow you to take advantage of discounts.  

  • Can you explain what a 100% online and self-paced course means?

    Our courses are conducted virtually through the internet but are not live instruction. Because there are no live lectures, you can work at your own speed and there is no set schedule. However, you will have access to an instructor should you need to talk to an industry experty.

  • How long does the course take?

    It depends on the course. However, if you treat it like a job (40 hours per week), then you will finish in under 3 weeks for the Pre-License Course. We tell students to estimate how many hours they are willing to spend on the course per week to get an estimate.

  • What are Kentucky Real Estate College’s qualifications?

    Our courses are designed and taught by various real estate experts. For us, this means real estate attorneys and input from real estate brokers. Additionally, we hold the following certifications and recognition: Certified Distance Education Instructor, International Distance Education Certification, “A+” rating by the Better Business Bureau, Kentucky Commission on Proprietary Education, and the Kentucky Real Estate Commission Certification.

  • What is required to be eligible for a real estate license?

    The licensing requirements vary from state to state. Check out our State Licensing Requirements FAQs for a comprehensive list.

  • Do I have to be at least 18 years of age to become a real estate agent?

    Yes, in Kentucky you must be at least 18 years old. 

  • What is your pass rate?

    Our student pass rates typically run around 85% given the month. 

  • How do I know what Kentucky requires?

    We have a list of licensing requirements on each of our course Pre-licensing Page. Those are specific to the corresponding state. You can also find a detailed list on the Kentucky Real Estate Commission's website. 

  • What if I am already licensed in a different state?

    If you are licensed in a different state, your path to licensure may be a bit easier. Some states share license reciprocity or have license recognition. You could check with that state’s real estate commission to see what options are available to you. 

  • Do you offer tuition assistance or financial aid?

    No, unfortunately, we are not able to accept tuition assistance of financial aid. 

  • How do I become a Realtor?

    You would need to complete your state licensing courses and satisfy any other requirements they have for licensure. You would also need to become a member of the National Association of Realtors (NAR) to use the REALTOR designation. 

  • What is the difference between a sales agent and a Realtor?

    A sales agent is licensed to represent buyers and sellers in their respective states. A REALTOR is also a member of the National Association of Realtors (NAR). 

  • Can I still work my current job while I take the online courses?

    Definitely! All of our courses can be taken at any time, you can work on the courses around your schedule. 

  • Can I still work my current job after I get my license?

    Yes, there are lots of real estate agents out there that keep their full or part time jobs and also work in real estate. 

  • Will you help me find a job?

    The Kentucky Real Estate Commission does not allow us to promote any brokerage. However, we are happy to provide a free consultation on this process, just give us a call!

  • How hard is it to get hired?

    Becuase your compensation will likely be commission-based, most brokerages are always looking to add new talent. This is much different than landing a new job: the brokerages will likely be seeking you out. 

  • How do I know when CE is due in my Kentucky?

    You can check with the Kentucky Real Estate Commission. They will have your records on file and can tell you what courses and hours you need each renewal period. 

  • Do you offer a trial period?

    Because our content is proprietary, we do not offer trial periods.

  • How much money do real estate agents make in Kentucky?

    While compensation ranges quite considerably based on work ethic, the number of deals you close, and your compensation structure, according to the National Association of Realtors, the medium gros income for real estate agents in Kentucky was $41,800.

  • Where do I go to get my fingerprints?

    It is recommended to have your fingerprints taken at a law enforcement office.

  • How do I get a criminal background check?

    Prior to registering for your real estate exam or submitting your application, you will need a background check. You can find this information here.

  • Are there scholarships available?

    No, there are not scholarships available. We are not able to accept financial aid or scholarships. 

  • Do I need to send my fingerprints somewhere?

    Your fingerprints will be sent to the FBI or the Kentucky State Police for processing, depending on what your state requires. 

  • Do I have to join the MLS?

    It is very beneficial to be apart of the MLS as an agent and some brokerages require it. However, generally, there is no requirement to join an MLS.

  • Do I have to join the board of Realtors for my area?

    Joining the board of Realtors will allow you access to their MLS system. They also offer various free resources. Some brokerages will require you to be apart of the board of Realtors. 

  • What is E&O insurance?

    E&O is Errors and Omissions insurance. This protects you and your clients from honest mistakes that can arise while working as an agent. 

  • Why do I need E&O insurance in Kentucky?

    Yes, you must carry E&O insurance in Kentucky. 

  • How much will it costs to start a career in real estate?

    The cost to get started will vary widely. Your location, brokerage, and personal preferences can impact your initial costs.
