Continuing Education

Join thousands of Kentucky Real Estate Agents that take our CE courses each year. All of our continuing education courses are 100% online, accessible any time. With this flexibility, agents are able to continue working while finishing their continuing education requirement around their schedule. Per KREC regulations, it is advised that licensees complete the CE requirement before December 21st of the calendar year. Courses started after December 21 may not allow enough time to report the education. The licensee will be fined $1,000 (changed from $500) and the license cancelled, there are no exceptions.

Online CE Courses

All of the CE courses listed below are available 100% online. Licensees can signup and access these courses at any time. The credit available for each CE course is listed next to the course. If a CE course is taken after December 21st of the calendar year, the licensee's license may be cancelled if the course is not timely completed.

Commission License Compliance - $30

  • PLE Credits: Mandatory - 3 Hour Commission License Compliance

This course covers many topics pertinent to sucessfully and legally using your real estate license. The makeup and powers of the real estate commission, fines and penalties, education requirements, E&O Insurance, Contracts, Agency, Fair Housing, and other topics are presented in the material.

Agency in Real Estate - $45

This course will thoroughly cover the Law of Agency. Differenty types of Agency, Agency Contracts, Broker and Agent relationships, Types of Brokerage Activities, Client and Customer level services are all discussed throughout the course. The course also features interactive exercises and students will fill out Agency Contracts used in the State of Kentucky. 

Contracts - $45

This course covers many topics specific to real estate contracts. Topics covered include: Elements of a contract, Types of contracts, Statute of Frauds, Real Estate specific contracts, Amendments and addendums, and Contingencies. This course also features interactive exercises and state specific contracts.

Disclosures - $30

This course will prepare student to properly fill out and fully understand how Disclosures should be used in the Real Estate Industry. Topics covered include: Agency Disclosures, Stigmas, Sex offenders, Defects, Standards of Care, Fiduciary duties, Various disclosure forms, Confidentiality, Environmental considerations, Disclosures in practice, etc.

Finance - $30

This course will cover the full range of Financing in the Real Estate industry. The topics covered in this course include: Title vs Lien Theory States, Types of mortgages and loans, Elements of a mortgage, Loan Instruments, Origination and discount points, how to transfer a loan, Land contracts, Equitable and Statutory Rights of Redemption, Primary and Secondary Mortgage Markets, Federal Reserve, Financing organizations, Government Financing Programs, and Lending regulations.

Fair Housing and Public Protection - $30

This course starts by covering the Fair Housing Act and other various Fair Housing Laws. It will describe the different protected classes and how to avoid Fair Housing violations. The course then describes illegal acts and how they are enforced. Lastly, other public protections laws are discussed. After completion, students should fully understand Fair Housing law, other public protection laws, how they are enforced, and how to operate a real estate business legally and responsibly.

Advertising - $30

This course will help students understand how to effectively communicate with their clients and to advertise a property legally. The course begins by discussing the basic elements of communication and how to properly relay a message so that the intended party receives what you are trying to convey. The course then covers advertising rules and regulations, helping agents understand what is acceptable ways to advertise. Exercises and real world examples are used to further illustrate proper advertising in today's market.

Technology and Data Security - $30

This course will thoroughly cover the use of technology and various aspects of data security as it applies to today's real estate industry. Unit 2 of the course focuses on real world tools, examples, interactive exercises, and activities relevant to real estate agents.

Risk Management - $30

This course will thoroughly describe what risks are present to agents in today's real estate market and how agents can effectively manage that risk. The course covers risks associated with everyday brokerage activities, illegal activities, representing buyers and sellers, environmental conditions, and fair housing.

Federal Antitrust Law and Real Estate Appraisal - $30

This course covers the basics of real estate appraisal and federal antitrust laws. The appraisal portion fully describes the appraisal process, how to value a property, factors affecting value, the basic principles of appraisal, and the methods of appraising real estate. The federal antitrust portion of this course delves into antitrust law history, laws in today's real estate world, and the various acts implemented in regard to antitrust.

Legal Descriptions and Land Use Controls - $30

Ready to dig into the details on how a property is described? The Legal Descriptions and Land Use course will fully cover each method of describing real estate. This course will help agents to better understand the process of a surveyor and they will be better suited to assist their clients when dealing with various land describing methods. Property zoning and other land use topics are covered in this course as well.

Property Rights - $30

This course covers all aspects of property rights and ownership. It begins by describing the various types of ownership and the different types of easements. Advising clients on what items should stay with a property and what is considered personal property can sometimes be difficult, this course will clear up the confusion. The ownership and transfer of water rights and other natural resources will be examined throughout the course as well.

Leasing and Property Management - $30

This course is an introduction into Leasing and Property Management. The groundwork of understanding different types of leases, types of estates, and residential and commercial property management is established in this title. This is a great course for a residential agent or beginner commercial agent to get their feet wet in the process of Leasing and Property Management.

Investing in Real Estate - $30

This course is an introduction into investing in Real Estate. The course covers the fundamentals of investing in Residential real estate and also various Commercial Properties. This course is beneficial for agents interested in investing in various types or real estate themselves or that work with investor clients.

Real Estate Auctions and Market Analysis - $30

This course will cover both Real Estate Auctions and Market Analysis. Auctions are common in the real estate field and function very differently from your everyday real estate transaction. The first part of this course will dive into the various types of auctions and how each one works. The Market Analysis portion of this course is an overview of the real estate industry market as a whole and how an agent can develop a plan in today's climate.

Practical Tips: Selling and Closing - $30

This course is designed to assist agents with their day to day interactions with buyers and sellers, among other helpful tips for gaining more business and operating more efficiently. The course also offers some techniques to get clients to write more offers, tips for increasing the chances of an offer being accepted, and how to smoothly get from contract to closing. 

Fundamentals of Investing in Commercial Real Estate - $30

This course covers the basic commercial property types and explains the differences between each.  It then dives into the fundamentals of investing in commercial real estate and what you need to know before you counsel your clients.  The main thrust of the course is to explain the Income Capitalization Approach to valuation of real property.  To do this, it examines and explains the various factors that go into calculating a capitalization rate.  It concludes with a practical application of the material to show how to use the Income Capitalization Approach to create an investment package valuable to a client.
